Training School on PD Models at UBI

IMMUPARKNET COST Action recently concluded the first training school entitled Models for Parkinson’s Disease: From Basics to Translation” held at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Beira Interior (UBI), Covilhã, Portugal. The training school was a success and certainly will opens doors for further trainings and fruitful collaborations between students and teachers.

Event Overview:
The training school included inpiring and enlightening lectures on Parkinson’s disease (PD) models, brain modeling, entrepreneurship, and clinical translational approaches. The program also featured hands-on sessions, mainly centered on animal models of PD, which were particularly beneficial in providing participants with practical skills essential for advancing PD research and translation.

Social Activities:
To foster interaction among participants and introduce them to the Beira Interior region/Covilhã, several social activities were held, including a delightful conference dinner and visits to the city center and WOOL Covilhã Urban Art Festival. These activities were a great success and added a cultural dimension to our scientific gathering.

Thank you to all our speakers, organizers, and participants for making this event such a huge success. And a special thanks to Liliana Bernardino for hosting and to CA21117 IMMUPARKNET for the fianancial support of it. We look forward to seeing you at our future events!

Stay tuned for more updates! 🌟
